Course 'In the Mountains'
During this course, you will make the quilt of the same name under the guidance of Vera Visscher and quilt it using the Artisan mini multi-circle template by Westalee Design.
In 2 lessons, Vera will guide you from drawing the guide lines to quilting the very last stitch of the quilt. During the lesson, you will learn how to use the ruler on your own sewing machine in the prescribed manner, as well as in other ways.
You will work with a ruler foot on the sewing machine. This means that the feed mechanism of the sewing machine, which normally feeds the fabric under the needle, is disengaged. You will have the ruler foot for quilting with the ruler.
Course structure:
The course consists of 2 lesson days. During these days, new designs are explained and quilted onto the quilt. You will then go home with homework, where you will continue quilting the designs. When the course is completed, you will hopefully have a quilt that only needs to be edged. Supplies
Sewing machine with a feed dog that can be disengaged
Sewer extension table for the sewing machine, to increase the working surface under the needle.
Sewing machine thread for quilting
Quilting gloves

How do I know which size quilting ruler I need?
To determine which size quilting ruler you need, you must measure the height between the needle bar and the stitch plate. You do this by lowering your presser foot and then measuring the distance between the screw on the foot and the stitch plate.

You need a ruler foot to use rulers. Ask your sewing machine dealer for the correct ruler foot for your sewing machine. If your sewing machine is a bit older and the brand does not yet offer a ruler foot, you can search online for ruler feet from Westalee Design. I have had good experiences with them. Here too, you need to know whether you have a low shank or high shank sewing machine.
